Aston Villa vs Southampton – Pre-game Assessment

After our Villans comfortable win against Brighton, the team will have to play at their full potential against a rejuvenated Saints team to repeat that success.  With the addition of the Albanian international, Armando Broja, on-loan from Chelsea and James Ward-Prowse playing at a superb level, we will have a tough time keeping this Saints team off the scoresheet.

Still, our Villans will be keen to impress their home fans who suffered through a lackadaisical performance against Watford.  They showed what they can accomplish against Brighton, and we have potential goal-scorers throughout our squad with eleven different players having already scored this season.

When we focus on defense, we can contain even the very best teams.  I am betting that Gerrard will start the same eleven who contained Brighton so effectively.

I predict that we will again prevail.  Aston Villa 2, Southampton 0
