Leeds vs Aston Villa – Pre-game Assessment

With Leeds in the midst of a horrendous losing streak and having fired their popular manager, his replacement (Jesse Marsch) and the team will have a very difficult time regrouping.  Improvement will likely come when the spine of the squad (Cooper, Phillips, and Bamford) return from injury, but that will not happen for a couple of weeks.

Even so, Leeds is still able to field a quality eleven as proven by the way they came from behind at Villa Park a month ago to tie that game 3-3 and, three weeks before that, down West Ham 3-2 at Upton Park.

The sting they gave our Villans should prevent any complacency after our stirring win at home against Southampton.  With games following versus West Ham and Arsenal, another strong performance is essential to keep our momentum going forward.

It appears that only something catastrophic can slow this Villa team’s progress under Steven Gerrard.  Certainly, coming away with less than three points will be a huge disappointment for our Villans.

I predict that we will again prevail.  Leeds 0, Aston Villa 3
